Vicki Wu

New Jersey native has 15 years of local industry experience

DANVERS, MA – September 24, 2018 – Mortgage Network Inc., one of the largest independent mortgage lenders in the eastern U.S., is pleased to announce that Vicki Wu has joined the company as a sales manager and senior loan officer in its Florham Park, NJ branch, which does business as MNET Mortgage Corp.

Wu (NMLS# 202894) serves clients throughout New Jersey, mostly in Essex and Passaic counties.  She has 15 years of mortgage experience serving this market, most recently as a mortgage banker at Eagle Home Mortgage in Cedar Knolls.

Wu grew up in Clifton, where she and her husband purchased their first home before moving to West Caldwell.  She has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University in Teaneck and a Graduate Certificate in Marketing from New York University. In her spare time Wu is the director of the Creative Women’s Collective (CWC) in Montclair, a non-profit that provides support, education and promotion for local artisans.  She is also an Ambassador Leader for the North Jersey Chamber of Commerce.

“We are happy to have someone with Vicki’s track record and long experience serving the northern New Jersey area join our team,” said Michael Burke, Mortgage Network district manager.

Wu describes the local real estate market as extremely competitive.  She says homes in easy commuting distance to New York City are in high demand but there aren’t enough properties available for sale.
“It continues to be a seller’s market,” she said, “with most homes attracting multiple offers.  There is a lot of competition in the $400,000 to $600,000 price range.  Buyers who find themselves losing bids in a multiple-offer market should consider looking at homes that require some vision and renovation,” she advises.

The best way to succeed in this market, Wu said, is to “be prepared.  Know how much you can afford by getting pre-approved for a mortgage, which allows you to act quickly if you spot the home that is right for you.  In competitive markets like ours, having pre-approval for a mortgage positions you as a serious buyer to sellers. Work with a professional who can guide you through the pre-approval and application for a mortgage and take the stress out of the process.”
