VA Funding Fees And Costs

VA Funding Fees

The VA Funding Fee is a one-time fee paid directly to the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) for every VA purchase or refinance loan. It is calculated by type of service, loan amount, amount down and subsequent VA Loan usage.

Borrowers have the option to pay the fee upfront, or can include the fee into their monthly mortgage payment.

Borrowers with service-connected disabilities can secure an exemption from the VA Funding Fee; however, keep in mind that the VA will make the final decision when declaring a borrower exempt.

Notice: All figures are estimates and may be subject to change. Limitations, restrictions and exceptions apply. Contact one of our Loan Officers to determine your exact payment expectations.

Purple Heart Recipients: Members of the Armed Forces serving on active duty who were awarded the Purple Heart may obtain a waiver of the VA funding fee. This includes veterans who have returned to active duty before the loan closing date.
